Hello everyone!
First of all I want to say that I can't speak Spanish good enough yet, so that is why I write in English.. I hofe it's all right.
I'm James and I will start fly-fishing this year. I already bought some equipment but especially the range of fly fishing reels is confusing me...
One of my mates recommended Z-Reels (http://www.z-reels.de/home.html) but before buying one I'd just like to make sure that it is the right choice..
Does anyboby know Z-Reels? Any experience? Any comments? Anybody knows where I can buy them in Spain?
Thanks for your help..
James

Re: ayuda
Hello, James, first welcome to this great forum for fly fishing, surely you will realize that my English is not the best but I hope that some other flycatcher may help you personally do not know the reel that you point out, welcome back and I look forward to seeing more of your comments and catch some future picture.

The choice of a flyreel is not nearly as difficult as choosing a flyline or a flyrod, except if you plan to fish in saltwater, where high backing capacity, brake quality (strength, inertia), and reel resistance so salt are essential.
In general terms, you want an aluminum mid or large arbor reel, ideally machined, which has disk drag, and extra spool availability.
Tell us what kind of flyfishing you plan to do, the equipment you already have, and most likely we will be able to advice on a suitable reel.
Z-reels are not marketed here in Chile, so I doubt somebody here has hands.on experience on them. I suggest you to check brand names like orvis, ross, sage, gloomis, lamson, loop, airflo, scierra. If you are more budget minded, check Okuma. Airflo and Scierra have some nice reels too, including some models marketed only in Europe.

Mario
